About Us

Both of our backgrounds are in construction, as we are both Building Officials by training.  Janelle's focus is mainly commercial buildings, while Rashel's is residential.  Our jobs require a sharp eye, attention to detail, and good communication.  We are well organized, keen to take on new challenges, and we both highly value good workmanship.  We pride ourselves on our honesty and integrity.

I was born and raised in Saskatoon. Growing up, my dad did a lot of renovations to our home and was always doing projects. I loved “helping” and as I got older I had a desire to work in the construction industry. I graduated from Architectural and Interior Technologies from SIAST in Moose Jaw.

Throughout my school work terms I worked at the City of Saskatoon reviewing drawings and helping with permit applications, and was offered the position of a building Inspector after graduation. I have my class 3 Building Official License and have been working as a Building Inspector for the past 13 years.

I love learning and taking on new ventures. In September of 2021 I opened a fully licensed Airbnb in the Buena Vista area in Saskatoon. I have found immense pride and joy in managing that property and in hosting. I love getting to know the guests and ensuring that their stays are perfect.

When I’m not working, I am out doing activities with my husband and our 2 little girls. We like to go for walks, to the park, the zoo, and the beach! We are also often traveling to Riverhurst/ Diefenbaker Lake and Humboldt to spend time with family. I am so grateful for the life my husband and I have created in Saskatoon and look forward to all of the infinite opportunities and adventured to come

I was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan but spent the majority of my youth growing up in the in Canmore, Alberta. I feel so blessed to of grown up in such a beautiful place, surrounded by the rocky mountains.

Upon graduating, I took my Architectural Technologies at Sait in Calgary, followed by moving to Vancouver Island to complete my Civil Engineering Technologies at Camosun College in Victoria, BC.

After college, I spent a few years living several places throughout Canada and travelling world wide.  I moved to Saskatchewan 2006. Since then, I have also acquired my Class 3 building official license and my LEED accreditation.  I have a small design company in which I focus on sustainable, super insulated homes. For the past six years, I have managed two of my own rental properties.

I am married with a wonderful step son and two young daughters. I'm delighted to call Saskatoon my home.  Since moving to the prairies my favorite winter pastime has become cross country skiing.  In the summer months, we spend as much time as possible at the family cabin in Jackfish Lake.

The outdoors have always been a source of meditation and solace for me.  I don't care if its minus 40, you can find me bundled up out on the trails.  I also enjoy walks out on the trails with my little girls, snowboarding, reading, and watching live music. As I write this, I have essentially been on maternity leave for the past three years. I look forward to getting back to work and the new challenges ahead.
